When your “Check Engine Light” comes on, whether the cause of the problem is a minor service or major auto repair, motorists living or working in or near McDonough GA trust Alpha Automotive to remedy the problem. The shop’s expert team of ASE-Certified auto mechanics have the experience, know-how, and diagnostic equipment to: (1) Know the difference between minor and major issues, (2) Be able to pinpoint the cause of the problem, and (3) Provide the proper solution. “Our customers and the family, friends and associates they refer to Alpha Automotive count on us to do the right thing the right way at the right time, says owner Kevin Paul. “The only acceptable fix is the correct and full fix.”
The check engine light is part of your vehicle's on-board diagnostics system. It monitors and controls the numerous computers, electronic sensors, and actuators that regulate how the engine, transmission, safety, infotainment and other systems interact and operate. Once it illuminates, the vehicle’s master computer stores a "diagnostic trouble code" in its memory that acts as a compass, pointing the Alpha Automotive team in the direction of the system(s) causing the problem.
Don’t ignore you check engine light. Think of it as your vehicle’s automatic early warning “health check” that allows you, the vehicle owner, to be in control — aware early of potentially serious problems and able to schedule an appointment with Alpha Automotive, before issues become more serious and possibly damage expensive components or leave you stranded. There will be times the check engine light issue is minor and easily remedied, and there will be other times more serious solutions are provided before your engine suffers a catastrophic event.
How any auto repair shop reacts when your check engine light illuminates can give you insights into that shop’s integrity and honesty. Check out this check engine light experience a customer shared in her recent online five-star review:
“This place is the best! I took my car in for a Check Engine Light that a previous shop had told me was ‘nothing’ and just a malfunction of the on-board computer. Mind you, the light didn't come on until my husband took the car to get the emissions test. While getting the test at the other shop, they told us the fuel pump was bad — had never had a problem before, but dear hubby trusted the guy, and approved the work. That is when then the light came on. It is also important to note that this same shop told me a brake light that came on after they did brake work on the car, was again, just a malfunction of the computer and that everything checked fine.
My daughter had been driving the car a few days and decided to get the check engine light addressed herself. She took it to Alpha Automotive, who quickly determined that the light was not defective, but that the Emission Control Sensor on the fuel tank was bad. She also asked Alpha to check the brake light, or at least reset it if nothing was wrong. Again, it was not the computer, but the anti-lock brake system. I was floored. The previous shop that gave us the bad service was owned by a former neighbor. Not only had I driven the car with the brake light on for almost a year, but so did my pregnant granddaughter, and daughter. I had even gotten a second opinion from another friend, who is a mechanic.
I felt very comfortable with the guys at Alpha. They went above and beyond the call to get the right parts and to repair my car in a timely manner and at the least expense to me. I will never take my car to any other mechanic shop again. Thank you Brandon for taking good care of me!” -- Pam B.
